SIREN 1363 ~ Whose Crazy Idea Is This Anyway?!

Darling Gongers…I have an announcement to make…and no, I’m not engaged, married, pregnant, or facing any major life changes. What I am however, is planning out a great adventure for this summer…yes dear Gongers, I’m coming to Canada! I know I know, why in the summer and not in the winter when all of the hockey is happening?

Simple answer, because I want to see all of the Gongers I call friends in their home environments, hanging out, taking a break, and stress free. I want to just take some time to explore some parts of Canada I’ve never been to, check out some sights, and go to a place where I have been informed I am to “Check my morals at the door and pray my liver can make it.” Yes, this place is none other than Calgary Stampede. I truly hope this event lives up to its reputation. I’m a pro when it comes to music festivals and events like this of all kinds, and after spending a very interesting 4 days in the middle of a field in Tennessee braving Bonnaroo…ok, braving may be a bit of a stretch, I had two tour buses and all access passes so I can’t say it was unbearable…but I did learn a great deal about anything that comes with live music over multiple days with lots of booze and er…other stuff. (For the record I do not, have not, and will not do drugs…not my thing.) Regardless, Stampede sounds somewhere on that level of crazy that Bonnaroo exposed me to, and I hope it matches it.

So I’ll be starting in Calgary at the end of Stampede to see some beauties unlike any other who hail from Alberta. Once my liver deems me capable of moving after 4 days of God knows what at Stampede, I’ll be making my way to Toronto. I already know TO is going to be an absolute Gongshow given the gems who live there. I have been promised quite a few interesting events there, but want to make sure I do things how the locals would and see all the spots tourists normally wouldn’t think to check out. I will check out the Hockey Hall of Fame and do some other Hockey related activities (and by that, no, I do not mean Gongers…ahem…haha moving on), but I will check out as much Hockey culture in TO as I can before a brief trip to Bigwin Island to enjoy a friends cottage for a day or two before the grand finale of my Canadian Adventure…

How could I go to Canada as a Gongshow blogger, and not stop in to see the boys at Gongshow HQ?! So yes, the final leg of my trip will be in Ottawa! Things I want to accomplish there include talking with the GSH crew, a night at Whiskey Bar Ottawa…not sure if I’ll be leaving my bra and dignity there as their twitter profile suggests I do…but I’ll giver my best shot, and then just doing whatever I feel like doing.

Can I Wear This To @WhiskeyBarOtt? Haha!

If you beauticians have any ideas on what I should do in any of the three cities I mentioned let me know! Obviously this will all be happening mid-July so there is plenty of time to prepare…but I definitely want some crazy stories to post about when I get back to California! If you have any suggestions, you know where to write em down!

So dear Gongers, if you feel like some pure craziness is in order, might I suggest you pack up your Gongshow T’s, a couple of cases of beer, and a chill attitude, and head to Calgary stampede this summer…you never know who you might run into.
