Cheers to an Unreal Player
Blog — By lizzie87 on April 23, 2012 2:11 PMWith Nashville eliminating Detroit in the quarterfinals of the playoffs, there is a legit possibility that a certain captain saw his last NHL game. Obviously I’m referring to Nicklas Lidstrom, i.e. perfect hockey specimen and ridiculously glorious player slash pain in the ass to all fans whose team is trying to score against him defending (this is coming from someone who cursed him and his teammates for two straight years in the Finals when they played the Pens, so you know it’s not a biased opinion).
No word one way or the other on if Lidstrom will be hanging up his skates or will be back in Motor City for another year (he says he hasn’t decided yet) but this one’s for him either way. He’s got a huge fan-base and they are all hoping to see him on the ice at the Joe again
In all seriousness, Lidstrom can’t retire the year before his team plays in the 2013 Winter Classic – AT HOME at the Big House – in the biggest outdoor game to date. Without him, who is going to stop the Leafs dyanmic offense from scoring all those goals!?
Hahahaha just kidding about that one, but seriously, don’t retire.
(That one’s just because. Everyone has probably already seen it, but really, why wouldn’t you want to watch it again.)

i don’t think he’ll retire, he’s got the winter classic this year and i think he would want to end his career now after a miserable playoff performance against the Preds
it’ll be a sad day in the NHL when he says he’s done. I’m happy that I can say I got to see one of the greats play live. Go wings go!
I sure hope he doesn’t he is fantastic to watch play and I am not a Wings fan in the least, but he is a definite legend and shoo-in for the HHOF
