Battle of Pennsylvania Becoming a Massacre
Blog — By lizzie87 on April 17, 2012 9:51 AMBefore the playoffs started, when all hockey analysts and experts were making their predictions, the Penguins making the Finals was a pretty common thought. Fast forward five days into the playoffs, where the Pens are on the verge of elimination after losing three straight (did I say losing? I meant just handing the games to the Flyers on a silver platter – someone honestly posted a Craig’s List add “LOST: Penguins Defense” ) – not quite what everyone had in mind. But hey, the series is pretty much all anyone can talk about so you can’t say its entertaining.
As a Pens superfan, I think it goes without saying that their meltdown/breakdown/unravelling at the seams is basically soulcrushing and my hopes for an epic comeback are dwindling rapidly, I’m going to focus on the other things that happened this season that everyone was talking about instead of on my team choking huge
As a side note, I obviously can’t like any of the Flyers but seriously, Bryzgalov is hilarious. Love his comments about getting ready for the Winter Classic with his thermos

Three one goal games and you think that’s the one series that hasn’t been gold? The Flyers-Pens series has been a joke if you can look past the box score. More fuck ups than your average men’s league game.
Everyones saying the goalies are shit and theres been a few that have been suspect but the fire power on both sides is unreal. And 1 goal games or not they’ve been putting me to sleep!
The goaltending has been mediocre at best and the team defense has been laughable. I was actually really looking forward to this series too.

To be honest, I thought Sunday’s game got out of hand. I’m not a huge Pens fan, but I do like them, I think there are a lot of talented players on the team. Would be nice to see them rally, but I’m hoping the games aren’t as unruly as Sunday. I’m all for big hits and that, but making a hit to make a play is different than just trying to run people.
Most of the game was nothing but bush-league antics. But apparently, most people here think that’s exciting or “old time hockey”
this is the most exciting series in a long time. they are playing as hard as possible to go as deep as possible. I love the emotion, not sure what people are complaining about, they all know what they are getting into.

The intensity is pretty high in this series which makes for some exciting hockey! The pens are making it a series now though but they still need 2 more wins!
